Tracy and I drove to Port Moody to visit arOka Vintage’s Grand Opening and Market Sale on Saturday afternoon!  The house and beautiful garden were teeming with inspiring tables and vendors with their jewelry, eco-friendly wedding dresses by Patty Nayel of Pure Magnolia in North Vancouver, photography, beautiful snacks and vintage finds for sale!  Inside the adorable house was furniture for sale/rent, decorative vases and glassware, bins of vintage costume jewelry – brooches, necklaces, earrings – and a boudoir of frothy vintage party dresses!  I wish I would have had access to this wonderful boutique when I was planning and collecting pieces for our wedding!!  If you’re getting married and want vintage pieces or inspiration, I would highly recommend visiting arOka Vintage!

Saturday night was our good friends Suki and Surinder’s 20th wedding anniversary!  Ryan and I dressed up in our party clothes and attended a beautiful party planned and hosted by their talented eldest daughter Romeena (and executed by wonderful family and friends) in Coal Harbour!  We had a blast photographing this sweet and loving couple before the party and so much fun helping them celebrate their amazing and inspiring 20 years together (photos to come)!

Outfit photos by Ryan (thanks!)

[photos by me, wedding photos by jamie delaine photography]
as a christmas present, the fabulous (and very generous) jamie delaine sent ryan and i an 11 x 14 print of our choice! we chose the photo of the bridal party in the “creekside gardens”. thank you so so much jamie!
i love her custom stationary, wrapping and business cards, so i thought i would photograph her card in one of the vintage tea cups i have that i use to store some of my jewelry!
the last two pictures are of the “wedding wall” we’ve arranged in the apartment. i decided to frame the tiffany & co. bag that ryan got when he bought my engagement ring and our wedding invite too. (thanks to michelle, jeri and paddy for the betsey johnson and chanel bags!)
my collection of costume jewelry: some pieces i’ve been lucky to inherit from my grandma page, and a few other pieces have been gifts or finds here in victoria. i really like the affordability of many of the pieces of costume jewelry, hunting for and discovering the many unique designs, and its ability to add some sparkle to a simple outfit.
