Continued from my last post, Suki and Surinder daughter Romeena planned a surprise 20th Anniversay party!  Romeena, Neetika and Rajan surprised their mom and dad out front of the Coal Harbour Community Centre and were greeted inside by their closest friends and family!  Surprise!!  The evening was filled with delicious food, wonderful company and of course, it wouldn’t be a party without the dancing!!  Happy 20th Anniversary Suki and Surinder, wishing you another 20 wonderful years!  Photos by both me and Ryan (who took a large portion of those included in this post – great job Ry!)

I am fortunate enough to know the Sidhu family through my new extended Nelson family and on Saturday we celebrated Suki and Surinder Sidhu’s 20th Wedding Anniversary!  Their eldest daughter Romeena planned a surprise party for S & S in Coal Harbour, and Ryan and I had the honour of photographing them in Stanley Park!  Ryan did an amazing job, this post is a blend of his photos and mine!  Next post, the surpriiiise!

Poor “little” Kilo, a beautifully large ginger tabby with a pink nose and toes that the Nelsons took in as a stray last Spring, has unfortunately passed away after a tragic accident.  We will miss your sweet chirps and persistent kneading, Kilo!

Browsing through my iPhoto on a rainy dreary day, a few pictures that I took last summer and never posted!  A deliciously summery “Lemon Tea” beer by Mill St. Brewery, one of my favourite summer desserts – freshly picked raspberries with cream, a visit my cousin organized to see the seals at the Vancouver Aquarium’s MMR centre, and summer roses from my Mom’s and Mom-in-law Jeri’s garden!

I’ve been delinquent with my posts, my sister-in-law Michelle and I have been working on a neat interior design project, more details shared soon!  Ok, so on to my resolutions; a standard for every new year, a batch of goals to try and work at throughout the year!

1. Be healthy!  I want to work on this resolution for both my emotional and my physical health.  2011 was one of the most stressful years of my life, and I am still feeling the effects of it (including 2 white hair patches on the back of my head – eep-  I guess I’ll just have to keep dyeing my hair ;)).  I’m hoping to use this feeling of a new year to work towards being happy, and healthy!  I want to get back into my basketball, keep working at running 2x a week and I want to bring my bike up to my parents place in Roberts Creek and start exploring the Sunshine Coast by bike!

2. Blog redesign!  I’ve had this layout since its inception, and I want to give it a facelift sometime soon! Time to start collecting ideas for some changes!

3. Use Vimeo more often!  I have a vimeo account, but the only videos I consistently record are… guess what? cat videos! My goal is to practice taking better videos and learning to use and working them up in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut!

4.  Have 365 posts for this year!  I’m already behind a few days in my posting, I’ll need to churn out a few double days at this pace!  My blog keeps my creative side going right now, and I need to exceed my record of 200 posts last year!

5. Open that darn Etsy Shop!  I’ve been diddling around with my projects for my Etsy shop, and I need to just open the silly thing!

6. More Baking!  I really do love to bake, and since Ryan loves cooking so much (and doesn’t enjoy baking), I want to experiment and discover new tasty homemade treats for us to enjoy!

7. More personal style posting!  I draw so much inspiration from the blogger and street style community, I was to join in the fun and participate in more outfit posts! So these are just a few of the minor everyday goals I have for myself this year!  Good luck with yours and Happy New Year!

After a wonderful Christmas at the Nelsons (top photo an arrangement of Jeri’s), we took the ferry up to Roberts Creek for Christmas with my parents!  Brother Ian had flown in on the 25th, and he, Mom and Dad had saved opening Christmas presents until Ryan and I arrived, so we were able to have a full Page Christmas after all! 🙂  Ian bought us a WICKED Spock cookie jar, we can’t wait to get him home and fill him with some treats! Thanks Ian!  Makito photographed and designed his own Christmas card again this year (photo 10), and it’s AMAzing as usual!  On display at the parents house! Thanks Makito!  And the REAL treat, Gdad was able to come home for lunch and a short visit!  I’m having such a great holiday and I hope you all are too!

On the 23rd, we had the annual Nelson/Sidhu Christmas dinner and gift exchange!  Jeri and Suki had arranged a neighbourhood scavenger hunt for us kids, with treasures and treats along the way!  Omg, seriously! 😉  Our gift exchange was so much fun, I was lucky enough to get the gorgeous “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” from my Secret Santa, Neetika, and I’m so excited! After our Nelson/Sidhu Christmas on the 23rd, we had Christmas at the Nelsons! We had a wonderful Christmas at the Nelsons this year! 5 people, 2 cats, 3 dogs and 1 delicious turkey!  It was my first Christmas away from my family, but I had such a fun time with the Nelsons!  Many thanks for the lovely gifts from family and friends, we are so very fortunate!  Jeri cooked a beautifully tender turkey and veggies and Ryan made us fancy latés with his SB Barista! Such a treat!  Now it’s time to watch one of our favourite movies, Labyrinth! “You remind me of the babe”, “what babe?”, “the babe with the power”…

Christmas cards from friends and family, colourful decorations and dressing up for holiday parties!  Christmas has really crept up on me this year, it feels like September was just a few weeks ago!  Many thanks for all of the Christmas cards and best wishes from friends and family, I hope you all have a safe & wonderful holiday with friends and/or family, wherever you are! xoxo

Photos 1, 4 and 7 by Jamie Delaine Photography.  Wow! 200 posts!  I started this blog just over a year ago, and it has brought me a great deal of comfort and fulfillment!  Having an outlet to share my ideas, creative inspiration, photography and my life with my family and friends (and my new blogging friends) has been a wonderful hobby, and I hope the next 200 posts bring me as much satisfaction!  Thank you for visiting and inspiring me to keep at it! xoxo

In addition seeing old pictures of my great grandparents looking spiffy, another thing I love about going through my grandad’s old photo albums is seeing pictures of my Mom when she was young!  There are so many great photos of her growing up and the time she spent at the cabin in RC.  I love finding similar photos of my brother and I, and thinking about how my Mom as a baby played in the water in the very same spots as we did growing up!  (I think my Mom is WAY cuter though and her bonnet is adorable! ;))
