Art Deco Chic at the Museum of Vancouver

I’ve been wanting to see the gowns on display at the Museum of Vancouver’s Art Deco Chic exhibit since it opened in March, and on Sunday, my parents came into town and we finally went!  The gowns instantly transport you back in time!  With shows like Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire bringing this era back to the forefront of popular culture, it was so great to see dresses worn by Vancouver women in the 1920s and 30s!  I loved the range from the intricately beaded flapper shifts from the early 1920s evening wear to the dreamy fluidity of the pink and cream draped gowns from the late 1930s evening wear.  The exhibit is open until September 23 at the Museum of Vancouver – try to go see these pieces from our fashion history before the exhibit closes!
