I love everything about this collection.  The beautiful pastel and soft colour palette, the monochrome looks (loving the full canary yellow look), the feminine bows and floral details and the quiet elegant sophistication of the tailoring and cut of the pieces.  I would love to own any and all of these pieces!  I think my favourite would have to be the canary yellow bow heels!  All images from

Michelle snagged us tickets to VCBW’s Biercraft x Phillips 5 course dinner/beer pairing and oh my goodness are we ever glad she did!  I won’t do an in-depth write-up of all the pairings (visit Ryan’s blog for more photos and better descriptions), but my favourite pairings would have had to have been (in order) 1. the smoked tomato gazpacho with lobster and chorizo paired with Phillips’ Hoperation IPA (perfect balance – love love LOVEd it, i could have lived in this soup) and 2. the BBQ braised short rib mac & cheese paired with the Phillips Blue Buck (possibly the best Mac & Cheese i’ve ever had – sorry Gramma and Barefoot Contessa)!  We had such a wonderful evening with J, our fortuitous table-mate from Chicago, and we will definitely be back next year!  Thank you Biercraft, Phillips and of course, VCBW!

1. Oak + Fort Audrey Top, 2. Vintage belt, 3. Zara Mint Jeans, 4. Club Monaco Linen Clutch (2010), 5. Vintage pearl necklaces as bracelets, 6. Michael Kors Watch, 7. Christian Louboutin Lavender Simple 85mm Patent Pumps (similar here).

On my recent trip to Edmonton, I became obsessed with Oak + Fort.  I knew of the store in Gastown, but I thought I could afford their pieces… I was pleasantly surprised how wrong I was!  The store is full of beautifully simple, chic and architecturally cut pieces at affordable prices!  I picked this Audrey Cream Top for 50$ (along with a few other items I’ll have to post about later)!  I will definitely check out their Gastown location!

I decided to jump on the mint jeans bandwagon.  Mint is one of my favourite colours, and pastels are so huge this season, and these jeans were only 50$ so why not?  I thought accessorizing with a strand of vintage pearls (bought at an antique mall in Victoria) would be all the jewelry i’d need to finish off this simple look!  Thanks to Ryan for the pics!

I always find Resort collections so refreshing!  Easy, fresh, stylish outfits intended for vacations abroad, warm summer nights sipping fruity cocktails and dinners on the patio.  Oscar de la Renta’s Resort 2013 collection mixes his classic feminine elegance with fresh, fun and youthful gingham, floral and tie-dye prints!  My favourite look is the smart little striped blazer and shorts outfit with those adorable white and navy strappy sandals!  All photos from

Ok so by now, most of you may have realized i’m obsessed with cats.  I love photographing them, I love their quirky, individual personalities and I love how much their owners love them!  Rocky and Tippy, Matt and Kevin’s cats are no exception.  I met these beautiful young cats last week and I took so many photos of Rocky, I couldn’t help but share a few more!  Matt and Kevin rescued this gorgeous Bengal, how special is he?!  (We love Tippy too, but she didn’t love the camera as much as Rocky, he’s a born model!)

My bridesmaid BFF Pam has been accepted to Parsons this fall, so I made a quick visit to Edmonton before she moves away!

Friday we fueled up with my new latest obsession (which unfortunately has not yet hit Vancouver?!) Tutti Fruitti on Whyte Ave!  I had lychee yogurt with fresh kiwi, lychee and passionfruit bobas (wow amazing!)  After yogurt was shopping along Whyte Ave in Old Strathcona (my favourite purchases from Oak + Fort I will do an outfit post on soon), we hit West Edmonton Mall and Southgate Mall (my old faves).

Saturday morning we visited the City Market downtown!  My favourite booth was from a vendor named Sally Abbott, who was selling her Tweelings!  Pam bought a cute little blue bird for a friend who is expecting a baby boy!  Such cute critters!  We had an amazing lunch at the Duchess Bake Shop (macarons and coconut cream pies) and drinks after dinner at Sugarbowl!  My favourite new beer discovery is the Aprikat wheat ale made at a local Edmonton brewery called Alley Kat Brewing!

My wonderful friends (and kindred spirits) Matt and Kevin had Pam, Erin (BFF) and I over to their new home for a delicious dinner cooked by Kevin!  We got to meet their adorable new kittens Rocky (a stunning Bengal) and Tippy (an adorably shy Medium hair tabby).  I had to resist posting all the pictures I took of them! (OH and we watched my most favourite movie EVER – Clue!!!!  Best. Night. Ever.)

The day I left I got to briefly visit with one of my first BFF’s Ashley and I was able to see her beautiful new townhouse she bought and is reno/decorating!  She has amazing taste,  I can’t wait to see how it turns out!  I also was able to briefly visit with my jet-setting brother Ian, who was just back from his trip to London/Paris!

I had such a great time visiting my old home and some of my best friends!  I’ll be back as soon as I can!

Continued from my last post, Suki and Surinder daughter Romeena planned a surprise 20th Anniversay party!  Romeena, Neetika and Rajan surprised their mom and dad out front of the Coal Harbour Community Centre and were greeted inside by their closest friends and family!  Surprise!!  The evening was filled with delicious food, wonderful company and of course, it wouldn’t be a party without the dancing!!  Happy 20th Anniversary Suki and Surinder, wishing you another 20 wonderful years!  Photos by both me and Ryan (who took a large portion of those included in this post – great job Ry!)
