Monthly Archives: April 2012

Ok so I went a little nuts posting these portraits, but there were just too many to choose!  It took me 2 hours to whittle them down!  Ryan and I photographed the newlyweds in a grassy field next to the Temple, thanks for being such great sports Lucky and Wes!  We had so much fun!  Photos 1, 2, 6-8 and 12 by Ryan, rest by me!

Ryan captured Wes getting ready and heading over to the Temple with his family.  I can’t resist posting more photos of the guests arriving, the colours are so beautiful!  We drank tea and snacked on pakora and paneer before heading up to the Main Hall for the ceremony…  Photos 1-10, 13, and 16-17 by Ryan, photos 11-12, 14-15, and 18-20 by me.

The morning of the wedding, I captured the gorgeous bride, Lucky, getting ready at her parents house (while Ryan was with Wes, the groom – next post to feature Wes).  Lucky’s jewelry was so ornate, so detailed, something beautiful to take in at every angle!  We arrived at the Temple, and while Lucky waited in the Brides Room, I snapped the sharply dressed guests in as they were arriving!  All above photos by me.

Ryan and I were fortunate enough to be asked to photograph Lucky and Wes’ April 14th wedding, and the night before, Lucky invited me to her family home to witness her henna tattoos being drawn on her arms, hands and feet.  So special and so beautiful, I’ve never seen anything like it!  Thank you so much Lucky!  Her home was filled with family and friends, all there to share stories, eat amazing home cooked food, and laugh together on her night before the big day!  Just a small taste of the wonderful day still to come!  Stay tuned for photos of their wedding day!

This long weekend has been the first weekend in a long time where I’ve actually really needed my sunglasses, though still a tad chilly, I wore my favourite leather jacket and silk vintage scarf that my Mom gave me!  Ryan and I walked around Stanley Park and snapped some pictures on Saturday afternoon, the weather was so wonderful!  We had a peek at the nesting great blue herons, walked along the sea wall and then visited one of our favourite liquor stores and picked up a 6-pack of the new Okanagan Spring Apricot Summer Weizen!  It’s a beautifully light fruity beer, perfect for the start of Spring!  Photos 1, 2, 5 & 6 by Ryan, rest by me.

A beautiful, sunny morning to wake up to, a fuzzy hungry cat insisting to Ryan to that he be fed, me heading out to run errands, and my ferns getting dehyrdated!  Hope everyone is having a great start to their long weekend! Photos 2 & 3 by Ryan.

I think the thing I love the most about the fall is a beautiful, tailored coat made from a rich textile, and the coats from the no. 21 Fall 2012 RTW line are perfect examples of well-made coats!  Since a warm fall coat sometimes hides the fabulous outfit you’ve put together, a visually stunning coat is a great way to preserve that powerful first impression!  I would love to add both the charcoal and moss green dress coats to my wardrobe!

Phewf!  A few weeks of my life packed into this iPhone update, my new job has me visiting condos and buildings around town with my boss and this first shot is atop the rental suites at 18 West Hastings!  A pretty neat view of downtown and Gastown!  (We are basically on top of Bitter!)  Rohe embracing laundry day again, wrapped up in our comforter while the cover is being washed.  Ryan bought me an orchid after a stressful day at work, I walk to work along Pacific St to get to work, and there have been Canadian Geese basking in the rare patches of sunlight we’ve been getting the past few weeks.

Ryan and I walked around downtown last weekend and the magnolias are starting to bloom, probably my favourite flowering tree!  Daffodils are out and blooming all over the neighbourhood too, its great to finally feel that spring is coming!  Ryan has been making bread today, and it has turned out beautifully!  Quite a tasty hobby, thanks Ryan!  And I went in to H&M looking for pretty tops to wear to a wedding that Ryan and I are photographing in a few weekends, and found this Marni at H&M silky dot dress (someone must have returned it), so I’m excited to wear it soon!
